Dear Neighbor,

It has been my great honor to serve, for the past 4 years, as your County Controller - Chester County's fiscal watchdog.

I have used my experiences as a former banking auditor, financial institution regulator and municipal finance attorney to consistently fight for taxpayers. As a father, businessman and elected official, I understand the need to keep taxes low for our Chester County businesses and families. I am pleased to report to you that as your Controller I have led an office with a professional staff and a record of real accomplishment - accomplishments that have resulted in real savings for taxpayers and increased transparency in government (See list of accomplishments).

I also am proud to report that our office has fewer full time employees and a lower budget than when I took office in 2006. Simply put, your County Controller's Office is doing more with less!

During last year's County budget hearings, I argued that we must not raise taxes in this time of economic crisis; that Chester County must be a shining star not only in terms of our livability, good schools and open spaces, but also as a place where taxpayers are respected. To add to the debate and to protect taxpayers, I identified millions of dollars of potential savings in County Government (Download my County Budget Hearing Presentation).

Now, more than ever, we need leaders who stand for freedom, smaller government, economic opportunity, lower taxes and individual responsibility. Not just in word, but in deed. As Controller, I will continue to work every day for taxpayers. In the end, it's your money, not the government's.
