Protecting Open Space

Since 1989 Chester County has created and funded one of the most comprehensive and sustained open space efforts in the Country.

The Open Space Program has evolved over time in response to the County’s changing circumstances. The efforts put forth have enhanced, preserved and promoted a high quality of life and protected our natural environment. The evidence of success that Chester County has achieved was recognized in 2008, when The Trust for Public Lands and the National Association of Counties presented Chester County with an award for it’s conservation of open space.

As a private citizen and elected County Controller, I have and continue to be proud of our County's nationally acclaimed Open Space Program. I support this program and want to make sure that we can continue to fund open space preservation and protect our environment, and in a fiscally responsible way. As Controller, it is my job to make sure that taxpayer funds are being spent wisely.

Please see my letter to SAVE and my letter to the Daily Local News on this important issue.
